With the move here to Tennessee and also with working on creating this website, I’m going through old work, sorting and organizing. This is back from when I used to paint on cabinet cards. I’d made this one for my dad. I’ve started work on a few new painted cabinets cards and I’ll share those soon. The inspiration for this piece was the many hours spent in the woods with him and the tales he would entertain me with. I never knew when he was embellishing a true account but it never mattered. The Appalachian mountains and the flora and fauna were magical then and perhaps even more magical now.
